For those who knew Task and want to contribute to the fundraiser for his wife and daughter, please consider donating.
❤️
If you’re anything like me: someone who tends to overthink everything, it might be daunting to donate after seeing many donations in amounts larger than you’re comfortable with, in your particular financial situation. “Is the amount I’m giving reflective of how much I care? If I don’t donate enough, I’d that an insult?”
❤️
It can often leave one feeling like it’s safer to not donate at all. I think this is perfectly understandable. The reality is that anything that is given is a gift to Sheryl and Winter, Dan’s wife and daughter. This fundraiser was started by a close friend: @ohhey_itsjoanne, and any money raised will go to help Dan’s survivors in some way, period.
❤️
If you aren’t comfortable donating, also completely understandable. Too often these sorts of things can feel like paralyzing “if I give to this one, I have to give everywhere” and that’s brutal. Anything will be appreciated and is an act of kindness, try not to let the amount be daunting. Be kind to yourself.
❤️
If Dan or the work he created in his life touched you in any way, keep him in your thoughts, reflect on who he was or maybe just call a friend you haven’t talked to in awhile. The connection we have with each other can be taken for granted, and it seems we might not value it like we might want to until it’s gone. Nourish your friendships, they are everything. I love you all.

Can’t seem to find the right words to express the sudden tragic loss of my friend @taskonerus.
Dan was an incredible talent, and kind hearted soul who seemed to improve the lives of everyone he connected with. He was generous with his extensive knowledge and even the most impossible tasks seemed like the next challenge for him. I’m still just in shock from the loss.
Best wishes to Sheryl and the rest of his family in this sudden heartbreak. Their family has asked for privacy and patience in their time of grief. ❤️
And warmest thoughts and big hugs to all the friends whose lives were also touched by Task. I love you all, my toy family.
We’ll all miss you Dan. ❤️💔

Another throwback to one of my favorite pieces.
.
“Witness” was created in 2021, fully digital in #Procreate as sort of an “in between.” What this means is that I’m often drained from one project but still have creative fuel left in the tank for something else. When this happens, I switch to something that I can just zone out on and go full stream-of-consciousness, and embrace whatever manifests. These “in between” projects are some of my favorites: filled with secrets and surprises that feel more like discoveries than the execution of premeditated ideas.
.
Nearing the end, it’s time to tweak final color (where it feels like I spend far more time than I probably should), adjusting hues and color relationships before making a decision on final output. Invariably, I discover several other color relationships that I like better than the original. That’s where I’ll opt for a color variant (or three). Where I can easily end up with dozens of color schemes that I love, they must be narrowed down to only a couple. In the end, “Witness” arrived in “Aubergine” (it’s original purple scheme) and a green treatment: “Viridian.”
.
The final step was output by the excellent crew at @staticmedium. They produced the final print, maintaining the vibrancy and sharpness of the source image, and I’m always impressed by their results. The end product was an 18” x 18” archival giclée print on 100% cotton rag paper, each print hand signed and numbered.
.
For the final release, I hand embellished (HE) a few of each colorway with various media, including pen/ink, acrylics, metallic paints, and iridescent interference inks. The HE prints are a chance to experiment with physical media on the image which has been fully digital until now. There’s always a delight of mixing the two worlds together.
.
There are still a handful of “Witness” prints left (alas, no more HEs) in my storefront (the link is in my bio). Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings! ❤️

Throwback to one of my favorite pieces to date.
.
“Bad Omen” marked a turning point in my recent professional career: after several years of surprise success in the gig posters scene, I realized I was in a rut and was missing the joy of making personal work. I wasn’t sure if this new over-booked schedule (for which I was extremely grateful) would be the new normal: the joy of making gig posters, but with very long hours and the busy back-to-back-to-back summer rock show schedule. I wanted to see if there was room to push some more personal work within my nascent existence as artist working predominantly in the screenprint medium.
.
This ink on paper drawing (alas, I seem to have lost the original scan) was digitally imported, and then sent into Procreate on the iPad and then it was off to the races. Taking the original ink drawing, refining it and then splitting it into multiple layers of various transparent blacks, I spent quite a bit more time on this one than many other pieces during that period of my life. Colors added and refined, and then the job was sent off to the stellar crew at @endhymns, who nailed it: the printing, color balance, registration and even output onto cotton rag with a hand-torn deckled edge. This piece couldn’t have come to life without their craft.
.
The piece went live in the shop with the hope that with enough sales, I could blend in much more personal work into the professional gig poster schedule. As one of my most successful releases to date, the confidence was a huge boost to helping me balance a better workload, and it’s all thanks to my incredible supporters and buyers. Still some available in the shop for those interested (link in bio).
.
I hope this little snippet was enjoyable, as I try to balance working on new work and manage the void in between releases.
I love you all. ❤️

Been awhile since a post, how’s everyone doing? I just finished shipping out a bunch of orders, thank you to everyone for your patience!
.
I’ve got a bunch of different projects in the works, reconfiguring the structure of the business, new experimentation, figuring out my schedule, conventions, products, apparel? And a whole smattering of other stuff for 2023. Gonna also push some live video of painting/digital, we’ll see how it all pans out, bear with me!
.
In the meantime, here’s a recent piece finished up and off to it’s new owner. Thanks a ton Rod!

Thank you so much to everyone who purchased my recent “Madness Revealed” art print. The run is sold out, and I’m humbled by the response.
+
I really wanted to take what I’ve learned in the several years since the original @primusville gig poster and see if I could enhance it to a new level. My goal was push this image further than it’s original inception by adjusting tonal depth, tweaking color, pushing and pulling shadows, and overall extend past the first round. I’m very happy with the final result. Especially when collectors reach out to tell me the differences they noticed from the original poster (thank you and photo credit: @visitor17).
+
These kinds of changes and subtleties couldn’t have been possible without the care and diligence from the printer, thank you to @dlscreenprinting for your critical eye and attention.
+
More coming soon, scroll to see one of many upcoming projects for 2023. It’s gonna be a busy year, stay tuned!

I’m pleased to announce the release of a new art print and pack o’ stickers, available tomorrow!
+
“Madness Revealed” is a seven color screenprint on off white cougar natural, expertly printed by @dlscreenprinting. This art print has been reworked from an image used for a @primusville gig poster from a few years ago. Since then I’ve tweaked tones, color and other refinements too boring to talk about. The prints will be available in limited editions of three colorways (shown in order):
Main, edition of 105, $60 each
Vintage, edition of 65, $70 each and Midnight, edition of 55, $80 each.
There’s a limit of no more than two colorways per person/household.
+
In additon, I’ve got a brand new pack o’ stickers, thanks to the wizarding robots at @stickerobot. Lepidoptera 6—10 are available in a pack of one of each for $12 each pack. No limit on those!
+
As always, be sure you’re signed up to the newsletter for exact drop time to get the best chance at purchasing. Link in bio!
